Focus on the last day

Tonight, M and I are going to the dealer to pay for our new Camry. We're bringing the plates and registration from my Focus so the dealer can move them over to the new car. This effectively takes my car off the road. On Thursday, an auction house picks it up to sell it for us.

I have mixed feelings about all this. I am thrilled to be getting a brand-new, really nice car. However, said new car is ours, not mine alone, as the Focus was. I bought it before we got married (see my Epinion of it for the story), and while I got it literally by accident and it's had its issues, it was still my car. Mine. The Camry will be registered in my name, but it's still open debate on who will drive it primarily. M has the longer commute, so he probably will take it, and I'll take his Mazda. Still. Even if we make the Mazda mine (it's a 1999, so we probably will be replacing it soon), I think I will be happier than if we are constantly playing musical cars.

RIP, my 2000 Ford Focus with 105,000 miles on it. 2000-2006.
