Celebrity snark, Friday before Memorial Day weekend edition

  • According to Newsweek, Britney Spears has had four incidences of endangering or generally being klutzy with her eight-month-old son, Sean Preston Spears Federline. As M pointed out, if you watched just about any mom as much as Brit is put under the microscope, you'd see stupidity. Also, there are Free Sean Preston T-shirts out there. I think there should be Free Britney ones.
  • This morning, I heard Do I Make You Proud by Taylor Hicks on Kiss 108. Mattie in the morning and his sidekick were snarking on it to make me proud. Sidekick said, "Hearing that song makes me want to punch Taylor in the face." Mattie: "He's a good-time dude. Why is he singing this schmaltzy ballad to his dad?" My take: Taylor sings the hell out of it, but it's a shitty song. I mean, how many heartstring-pulling cliches can we put in one crappy, soulless ballad? Let's count: Seeking parental approval. Overcoming adversity. Having someone help you along the way. Ech.
  • According to this site, there are all sorts of clues throughout last week's House episode that the trippy ol' time we had Tuesday night was a dream sequence. Check it out, then rewind your TiVo.

Have a great holiday weekend! I cannot wait to get out of here and get into the sunshine.
