Much too much of a good thing

As a belated Valentine's Day gift, my M took me to the chocolate buffet at Cafe Fleuri. I was looking forward to it all week. It was a beautiful spread -- chocolate panini, chocolate croissants, ice cream, make-your-own-crepe station and desserts up the wazoo.

The problem is, after two plates of choco goodness, I started to feel absolutely sick. As much as I adore my chocolate, that stuff was much too rich for me. I don't think I have ever been that full in my life. We paid the bill and staggered out the door into the Boston sunshine, our bellies groaning and our heads foggy from the sugar overload.

We took a sprightly walk (yes, my foot feels much better) around our favorite places in Boston: Fanueil Hall and the North End. M needed to get his pizza fix at Ernesto's, so we got some. I was amazed at the bottomlessness of his belly.

As for me, my belly hurt for the rest of the day. I came home and needed to nap for four hours, and then I slept through the night. We went to a party today, where there was lots more good food, and now my stomach feels like it's going to fall out. Could be the antibiotics I'm taking for my sinus infection, too, but I'm ready to live on bread and water the rest of the weekend.

But I love my M for taking me to the choco buffet. It certainly was an experience!
