Is it me or my meds?
My post title is also the title of one of the most important books I've ever read, and I would suggest it to anyone who takes medication for a mood disorder. With the latest study saying that antidepressants work no better than placebos, that question is on my mind. However, this story suggests that the new research should be used as a way to evaluate your treatment plan.
That said, I know when I was hospitalized and they raised my dose 20 mg, I felt better literally the next day. My shrink said it was largely the placebo effect. But you know what? I FELT BETTER. That's the important thing.
