Merge
As mentioned, we have a huge CD collection, and it's eclectic as hell. Black Sabbath and Boston (M's) sits next to Mariah Carey (mine). Barbra Streisand (guess who?) is on the same rack as Soundgarden. We've got everything from ethnic Italian music (yes, we are a pair of guineas) to hardcore gangsta rap. When I lived alone, I had my CDs in this wooden bookcase-like contraption. I started combining our CDs in alphabetical order when I moved into the condo, but I left some of M's separate.
M built the IKEA CD holders, which he said were extremely easy to put together, and they look fabu. I'll post a pic soon. For my money, the floor lamp went together like a piece of cake. We are very pleased with our entire IKEA experience.
While he napped last night and I watched Grey's Anatomy (great episode, BTW), I started merging all of our CDs. It was pretty nostalgic to look at all my music, remembering where I was when I bought it and the car rides I used to take to listen to it. And while M and I are essentially the same person, we have wildly different musical tastes.
We now have in-dash CD players in both our cars, so I brought one of my favorite Sting CDs to work with me today. It was way rad to be able to listen to it in the car without having to tape it. (The Focus only had a tape deck.) I'm looking forward to many rides in the new car and enjoying my music.
Speaking of music, two major related events within the next week or so:
1) On Wednesday, March 1, Mike 93.7 will be playing my three favorite songs with my intro. Listen between 6 and 9. Yeah boyyyyyyyy!
2) A week later, M and I go to the Orpheum to see Hall and Oates. It's like a wet dream for children of the '80s.
