Attention Verizon: I need DSL
At home, I have crappy dialup. And yes, crappy dialup is its full name. You see, DSL hasn't come to my neck of the woods yet -- although some parts of Leominster have it -- and M won't have cable in his house. We have DirecTV instead. So I'm stuck tying up the phone line and keeping my cell on for calls. However, my home computer has a fabu monitor.
At work, on the other hand, I have a lightning-fast T1 (think it would be a problem if I didn't, considering I work for a dotcom) but an almost unreadable monitor. So I can get to the Internet quickly -- I just can't see shit when I get there.
Maybe we should have a bake sale or a public awareness campaign or SOMETHING to get Verizon to bring DSL to my part of town. (Aside: Back in the day, I suggested the bake sale to my slumlord as a way to buy a new hot water heater when the hot water crapped the bed yet again -- on my first day of a new job. She was not amused.) Whaddaya think?
