Those thoughtful little details

Today is my father-in-law's birthday. Last year was a major milestone for him, so this year is the milestone plus one. We're taking the parents-in-law to dinner, since it was their anniversary this week. The convo this morning:

C: M, shouldn't we maybe get a cake?

M: Good idea!

I then was half an hour late to work since I was setting the table and tidying up Casa Christine. I still need to get an anniversary card. Why is it we are always the ones thinking of the thoughtful little details?

Ahh, M, you know I love you. But I'd like you better if you thought like a girl sometimes.
