OK, why is our pool water green?

It rained, and we now have cloudy green water, which M spent most of the weekend trying to remedy. He tried Mineral Magnet. He tried running the pump nonstop. No dice. It's freaking hot, and I want to go swimming. Just would like to see the bottom of the pool first. Anyone know what gives?
