Better today
Thanks to those of you who expressed concern over my last post. I was in a pretty shitty place when I wrote it. Everything seemed hopeless and, well, shitty. And I'd be lying if I told you I woke up this morning singing and dancing, but I'm starting to come to terms with it. M has some questions for the doc and will talk to her today.
But here are some things to keep in mind:
1) We don't know for certain that M will lose his fertility.
2) Even if he does, we have a back-up plan (or Plan B, as I like to call it, also known as money in the, err, bank).
3) We may have had to go to in-vitro anyway.
4) This treatment should help him get better.
5) At least he won't be on steroids, which are horrendous for you (yeah, I know chemo isn't a walk in the park, but still...)
6) It's only one day a month.
7) It's not anywhere near the same dose as they give cancer patients.
8) They can minimize the side effects like nausea.
9) We can schedule his treatments on Fridays so his mom can take him and he can have the weekend to recover.
10) We have a plan, and he'll be monitored closely.
There. I feel somewhat better now, in the words of Collective Soul.
On a lighter note, you could be this brain donor. This story made us laugh out loud this morning, and damn, we could use the chuckle. I bet you could, too.
Dinner rocked last night. I miss my girlfriends.
