1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Cocoa with peppermint. I even have a Peppermint Cocoa Yankee Candle.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? "Santa" bugs me for wrapping paper on Christmas Eve and barricades himself in the office, from which cursing and strange noises come, to emerge a few hours later with everything in gift bags.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White, baby. Except my banister, which is entwined in fake garland with colored lights.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? Sometimes.
5. When do you put your decorations up? Usually right after Thanksgiving. I feel anything before that is too early.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Mom's Jimmy's on the Mall rice.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? My dad reading me a story and stopping midsentence to tell me to get to bed, because he heard something on the roof. I then stayed awake all night listening for Santa.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Crawled into my mom's bed one weekend morning and said, "There's no Santa, right?" To which she replied, "There IS a Santa Claus spirit."
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Sometimes.
10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him? I have no children yet, but when I was a kid, some of Mom's sugar cookies and milk. Rockin'.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? If I can stay home and relax: Love it. If I have to go slipping and sliding around, i.e., to work: Hate it.
12. Can you ice skate? No, and I wouldn't attempt it. The only bones I broke growing up were when I attempted to roller-skate.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? When my parents took me out to Syracuse, my bro decided to have a big party. It got completely out of control, and a lot of stuff got stolen from my house, including the blue topaz ring my parents gave me for high school graduation. About a year later, they replaced it. Opening it made me cry.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? I love seeing people I never get to see. Oh, and presents rawk.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Tie between my mom's sugar cookies and my best friend's chocolate truffles. Bringing up the rear is my mother-in-law's peach cookies filled with Nutella. Yum...
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Driving around and looking at everyone's lights.
17. What tops your tree? A needlepoint angel my grandma made for me.
18. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving? This ain't PC to say, but I like both!
19. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? O Holy Night
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Could take or leave them.
