Should I go?
So at my work, they are having a holiday party in January. It's on a Wednesday night from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. I'm getting the sense that spouses aren't invited, which I think is a bit lame. Most people are going, but I'm not sure I should, considering I need to pick M up and it's midweek. What do you think?
And speaking of M, he seems to be doing well after his first round of chemo. Really tired, but that's to be expected. The doc gave him some antinausea meds before the treatment, so he didn't get sick. The antinausea drugs they have now are really excellent. He goes back in mid-January. I'm really hoping this means remission.
And speaking of work, yesterday we had a potluck lunch. We did have a conference room at one point, but we got booted from it because someone had people coming in. So we had to have it out in the hallway. Anyway, we had a Yankee swap, and we're chatting and talking away. Suddenly, this little head pokes up around the corner and told us they were trying to do client training and they couldn't hear themselves think, and the customers were starting to ask what was going on. Now, OK, I know we have a business to run, but where were we supposed to go? I did feel bad for this girl -- she obviously drew the short straw and had to come tell us to shaddap, and she was visibly nervous about it. Anyway, I made rockin' turkey chili that everyone loved, so we made more tonight. I went here to get some of the necessary spices, since their prices are really good. What a life I lead, I tells ya. I'm taking the last week of the year off, and I'm frigging beside myself about painting my bathroom. Uggggg.
M is snoring like a buzzsaw downstairs. I've pretty much had to move into our spare room at night, because there is just no sleeping with Mr. Loud lately. I want him to be comfortable, so I don't ask him to move, but I miss sleeping in my own bed.
