What the holidays are really all about

You thought I was going to say peace on earth or giving or the Christmas spirit, didn't you? Ahh, hell no. It's about good food, baby. I loved this article about different holiday traditions. I love French onion soup, but I don't eat red meat or pork, so I only eat it if it's vegetarian, i.e., made with a soy sauce base instead of beef. I've only found one restaurant that makes a vegetarian soup, and that's the 99 restaurant, which M hates. I'll have to make a big pot of it during my week off.

And can I just tell you I am thrilled to have a week off? Of course, I will be doing a lot of house stuff, doctor's appointments, getting M his big gift, etc. That also means I have to work my candy ass off this week. I'm wiped, man. And I got an oh shit card last night from my grandma's brother. I mercifully haven't gotten many of those -- you know, you think you're done with your holiday cards, and you get one from someone you totally forgot or thought you weren't doing cards with. That's why I keep extra out. It's good to be anal.

I need to go to the grocery store at lunch and pick up some baking and cooking supplies. Pray for me. ;)
