Christmas: the aftermath

Another year gone. Sigh. I didn't get as into Christmas this year as I have in the past, so I don't feel the tremendous letdown I usually do this time of year. Undecorating is incredibly depressing. I often think people of other religions laugh at us and how into the holiday we get. There is this stereotype of the lady with the Christmas shower curtain and toilet paper, walking around wishing EVERYONE (of every religion) merry Christmas. I don't want to be that lady, but I do enjoy the holiday.

So M bought me a gorgeous tanzanite three-piece set: earrings, pendant on a chain and ring. It's so lovely. He also got me a large gift cert to Dunkin Donuts so I won't go to the evil empire anymore. We went to Target yesterday and bought all our wrapping paper, bows, cards, etc. for next year. We cleaned up, yo.

Finally, I found out over Christmas that my cousin is a rap star. No shit, yo. I got a demo CD from him and listened to it. He's really, really good. We went over my parents' house yesterday to do gifts with them, and my bro and SIL played his other CD. He drops some serious swear words on it. My extremely white mom's comment: "I like the beat, and I like his voice, but I don't know what he's saying." SIL: "That's probably for the best!" After dinner, we went here for dinner. Good food. Almost tempted me over to the dark side of eating meat.

I'm home all this week. Hoo-rah. I cleaned today and went to the dentist, and tomorrow I have several appts and will be taking M's car in to be detailed. That's his main gift from me, since he will be driving again after the new year. Thursday I paint the bathroom. What a life!
