What did I do?
M and I decided to move date night to Wednesday and hit the 99 in Fitchburg. Good food, and M had a draft beer with his dinner. We decided to take his car, since he needed gas, and I drove it.
On the way back, we were driving past a statie when his lights came on and he indicated I should pull over. M told me to stay cool.
Now, I used to have a speeding issue. But I haven't been pulled over since early 2002, because I really watch my speed now. I've been pulled over many times, and usually I know exactly why. But I really didn't this time and was extremely confused.
Cop man got out of the car and asked for license and reg. M couldn't find the registration in his junk pit of a glove compartment, so the cop said he'd look me up in the system.
Guess what? My lights weren't on. They're different on M's Protege than the Camry, and it was a well-lit street, so I really didn't notice. Plus, the dash was lit up. The area we were in is near a lot of restaurants, so he must have thought I was toasted. He told me it's a $35 fine for not having your lights on after dark. I apologized, he said no problemo, and it was all good.
Keep your lights on!
